Yui Kō lighthouse, built in 1966, is located at the end of the outer breakwater for Yui harbor. This cylindrical concrete post structure measures 8.5 meters in height and includes a 1-story concrete equipment shelter. With a focal height of 13 meters, it displays a green flashing light, characterized by a single flash every 6 seconds (F.Fl G 6s). The tower displays white, red, and green colors and offers a visible range of 11.3 nautical miles. Positioned at the northwestern corner of Suruga Bay, it marks the entrance to the fishing harbor.
Why it matters: This lighthouse serves as a navigation aid for the many fishing vessels that use Yui harbor, assisting their safe passage into the port.
