About Yotorinose Lighthouse
Also known as: Yotorinose (Yotori No Se)
This concrete lighthouse stands 9 meters tall on a reef at the entrance to a small boat harbor on the north side of the Goza peninsula. It is cylindrical and flares at the top, painted black with a red horizontal band. The light emits a white flash every 5 seconds. The reef upon which it stands is visible from the water, but the tower itself is closed to the public. Its nearest port is Hamajima, 2.9 kilometers away.
Why it matters: The lighthouse warns mariners of the reef it marks and guides small vessels into the harbor on the Goza peninsula.
