About Yegorova Lighthouse
Also known as: Yegorova (Mys Yegorova, Cape Egorov)
The Yegorova Lighthouse is a 19-meter cylindrical tower constructed of cast iron, featuring distinct black and white horizontal bands. Its lantern is painted red. This structure was built in 1959, replacing an earlier tower, and stands on a promontory approximately 50 kilometers southwest of Terney. The lighthouse emits a white flash every 11.5 seconds, visible for 24 nautical miles. It is located near the port of Plastun, about 5.7 kilometers away.
Why it matters: The lighthouse's light, at a focal height of 92 meters, aids mariners navigating the waters of the Russian Far East, helping them avoid the dangers of the promontory it marks.
