About Yanai Kō Lighthouse
Also known as: Yanai Kō (Outer Breakwater)
This 9-meter cylindrical concrete lighthouse is situated at the west end of a detached breakwater protecting Yanai harbor. It features a square, one-story concrete equipment shelter and is painted red. The light emits a single red flash every 6 seconds. The tower itself is closed to the public, but the site is accessible by boat. This structure guides vessels approaching and departing the port, warning them of the breakwater's limits.
Why it matters: Yanai Kō warns vessels of the western end of the detached breakwater, ensuring safe entry and exit from Yanai harbor.
