Ōyamano Hana Lighthouse

🇯🇵Shimonoseki, JPOperational

Established in 1901, the Ōyamano Hana lighthouse was a 12.5-meter concrete tower situated on a small concrete pier. It stood approximately 400 meters northwest of the Kanenotsuru lighthouse. The lantern was removed from the structure before its operational life concluded. The lighthouse served the waters near Shimonoseki and was located 1.4 km from Hikoshima port. It was demolished in 2003.

Why it matters: The lighthouse marked a specific coastal point in relation to the Kanenotsuru lighthouse, likely aiding local navigation. Its demolition in 2003 ended the service of a navigational aid that had been in place for a century.
