About World Lights - Japan: Modern Lighthouses Lighthouse
An 11-meter red concrete post with a 1-story concrete equipment shelter marked the detached east breakwater of Shoya harbor. This structure provided a red light with a 3-second flash cycle. It was situated on the southeast coast of Hokkaido, Japan, approximately 12 km north of Cape Erimo. The light was operational until 2018, when it was deactivated and removed. A new main light has since been installed on a breakwater extension.
