This cylindrical stone lighthouse, built in 1867, stands 27 meters tall on the island of Isola Sant'Eufemia, just off the coast of Vieste. Its lantern and gallery rise from a two-story keeper's house, all constructed of white stone. The focal height of the light is 40 meters above sea level. It emits a white light, characterized by a single white flash every 15 seconds, visible for a geographic range of 17.1 nautical miles. The lighthouse has been operational since its construction in 1867 and is located at the northeastern tip of the Gargano Peninsula.
Why it matters: This lighthouse warns ships away from the Gargano Peninsula, serving as a key navigational reference for shipping in the Adriatic Sea.
