Verklikker Lighthouse
Location & Light Range
About Verklikker Lighthouse
This cylindrical white concrete tower, standing 4 meters tall, was built in 1949. It features a brick section near its top, contrasting with the otherwise smooth concrete structure. The maritime station was first established in 1912 with a skeletal tower. The current tower replaced the original structure and was operational until 1996. It is located in the dune fields north of Nieuw Haamstede, within the Zeeland region of the Netherlands. The lighthouse is now inactive and closed to public access.
Why it matters: The Verklikker Lighthouse's initial establishment in 1912 and its subsequent rebuilding in 1949 highlight its role in guiding ships along the Dutch coastline.
