Vereshchaginskiy Range Front Lighthouse

This cylindrical concrete tower, standing 12 meters tall, was built in 1964. It is painted white with a distinctive black vertical stripe along its range line. The lighthouse emits a red light with a single flash every 5 seconds, visible for 11.9 nautical miles. The structure replaced earlier range lights that dated back to 1938, with subsequent wooden towers erected in 1953. Its octagonal base contributes to its overall form, and it stands 15 meters above sea level.

Why it matters: This lighthouse guides southbound vessels entering the Amur Bay, a critical waterway for regional shipping, ensuring precise alignment for ships on this route.
