Utoro East Breakwater Lighthouse

Fl Green 3s🇯🇵Shari, JPOperational

Also known as: #Utoro East Breakwater

A 11-meter cylindrical concrete tower painted white, the Utoro East Breakwater light was established in 1959. It stands 12 meters above sea level and emits a green flashing light every 3 seconds, visible for 11 nautical miles. The original structure, which marked the entrance to Utoro's harbor on the west side of the Shiretoko Peninsula, was later replaced. The current light continues to guide vessels from the end of the east breakwater.

Why it matters: This light helps demarcate the east breakwater, ensuring safe passage into Utoro harbor for local maritime traffic.
