Tsubaki Kō Lighthouse
Location & Light Range
About Tsubaki Kō Lighthouse
This cylindrical concrete lighthouse, built in 2016, stands 10 meters tall with a focal height of 12 meters. Its white tower features a flared top and emits a continuous green light with a brighter flash every five seconds. Located on the extended west breakwater of Tsubaki fishing port, approximately 10 kilometers west of Uno Saki, it guides vessels into the harbor. The lighthouse was relocated to its current position as part of the port's expansion. The site is open to visitors, though the tower itself is closed.
Why it matters: Its relocation to the extended breakwater signifies the port's development and the commitment to maritime safety for local fishing fleets. The light's specific flash characteristic aids in its identification, preventing navigational errors for vessels entering the port.
