This red, cylindrical concrete lighthouse stands 17 meters tall at the end of Muroto port's main breakwater. Its light, positioned 19 meters above sea level, emits a single red flash every 6 seconds. The structure is a round, tapered concrete tower situated about 5 kilometers northwest of Muroto Saki. It guards the southern entrance to the port, approximately 0.1 kilometers from the nearest port facilities at Murotsu. Though accessible only by boat, the lighthouse and its immediate surroundings are closed to the public.
Why it matters: The lighthouse clearly marks the extremity of the south breakwater, guiding vessels into the sheltered waters of Muroto port.
