About Tood Island Lighthouse
This metal lighthouse is a 9-meter square tower, painted green, standing on a square platform supported by piles. Its focal height is also 9 meters, and it emits a white light that flashes once every 15 seconds. The structure serves as a navigational aid with a geographic range of 10 nautical miles. Tood Island lighthouse is located on the western side of the Canigao Channel. The site is open to visitors, but the tower itself is closed to the public.
Why it matters: This lighthouse marks the western side of the Canigao Channel and warns mariners of the eastern end of the Danajon Bank coral reef.
