About Tokarev Lighthouse
Also known as: Tokarev (Egersheld)
The Tokarev Lighthouse, built in 1913, stands 12 meters tall on the southwestern tip of the Egersheld Peninsula, marking the entrance to Vladivostok harbor. Constructed from stone, its cylindrical tower features a distinctive octagonal lower half and a round upper half, topped with a lantern and gallery. The lighthouse emits a single white flash every 7 seconds, visible for 11 nautical miles. It is situated at the end of a mole, approximately 2.2 kilometers from the nearest port. The site is open to the public, though the tower itself is closed.
Why it matters: The lighthouse is important for guiding vessels into Vladivostok harbor, a significant shipping lane.
