A white, cylindrical concrete tower 11 meters high, standing on the south breakwater at the entrance to a harbor on the east side of Hiura Misaki. The structure, which has a focal height of 12 meters, is round and hourglass-shaped, with a lantern and gallery at the top. It displays a green light with a characteristic of Fl G 4s, visible for 11 nautical miles. The site is accessible, but the tower is not open to visitors.
Why it matters: This structure marks the harbor entrance, serving as a navigation aid for ships approaching the port of Toyoura, which is 2.8 km away. Its unique form also distinguishes the local coastline.
