The light source is 21m above sea level and casts a white flash every 5 seconds, with a geographic range of 13.4 nautical miles. This structure is located on a small island marking the southern approach to Toga Wan, a bay on the western side of the Oga Peninsula in Akita Prefecture. The site is open to the public, but the tower cannot be entered.
Why it matters: This navigation aid marks the southern entrance to Toga Wan, warning ships away from the island it stands on.
