Tobutsumisaki Lighthouse is a large, square tower with red horizontal bands on a white background. It stands on Kiritappu Point, officially named Tobutsumi Point, in Hokkaido. The lighthouse has a focal height of 49 meters. Its light is white and red. The effective luminous intensity is 820,000 candela, making it the brightest in Hokkaido. An associated light, the Tobutsumi Point Hōkake Rock Directional Light, is also present.
Why it matters: This lighthouse is situated within Akkeshi Prefectural Natural Park, a scenic area overlooking the Pacific Ocean.
