Teluk Sadeng West Lighthouse
Location & Light Range
About Teluk Sadeng West Lighthouse
This red, cylindrical lighthouse stands 14 meters tall on the west side of the harbor entrance at Sadeng, Indonesia. Constructed from concrete and fiberglass, the current round tower features a flared top and is mounted on a square concrete platform supported by four concrete piles. It replaced an earlier square skeletal tower. The light emits a single red flash every three seconds, visible for 11.6 nautical miles. The site is open to the public, but access to the tower itself is restricted.
Why it matters: The lighthouse provides a critical navigational reference for vessels approaching and entering the harbor, particularly helping to identify the western approach in potentially challenging coastal conditions.
