Constructed in 1919 from stone, this lighthouse stands 17 meters tall. It is a fortified watch tower adapted for navigational purposes. The structure is located on a promontory beside the coastal highway SP122, approximately 2.5 km southeast of Librari. It is 32 km southeast of Taranto and 17.3 km from the nearest port. The lighthouse ceased operation around 1960, and its lantern has been removed.
Why it matters: The structure's primary significance lies in its origins as an Aragonese fortified watch tower built around 1550, predating its use as a lighthouse.
