About Tanjung Tungku Lighthouse
This steel, round lighthouse was built in 1961. It stands 24 meters tall and emits a white light. The tower is painted white, though historical records and photographs indicate an earlier triangular steel skeletal tower with red and white horizontal bands. The station is located on a promontory approximately 80 kilometers east of Lahad Datu. While the site is accessible, the tower itself is closed to the public.
