Tanjung Priok West Mole Lighthouse
Location & Light Range
About Tanjung Priok West Mole Lighthouse
This green, cylindrical fiberglass tower stands 20 meters tall at the end of the west breakwater of Tanjung Priok harbor. It was built in 2015 and first lit the same year. The structure features an octagonal base and a flared top, reaching a focal height of 22 meters. Its light emits a single green flash every four seconds, visible for over 13 nautical miles. A sculpture of a human figure now surrounds the base of the lighthouse. While the site is accessible to visitors, the tower itself is closed to the public.
Why it matters: This lighthouse is essential for vessels entering and leaving Tanjung Priok, Indonesia's busiest port. Its location on the breakwater helps reduce collision risks in a heavily trafficked area.
