Tanjung Arus lighthouse stands on the northeastern tip of Pulau Talisei, an island off the coast of North Sulawesi, Indonesia. The station was established in 1910. The current structure is a 20-meter-tall square skeletal tower made of white iron. It emits a white flash every five seconds from a focal height of 108 meters. The lighthouse has a geographic range of 25.7 nautical miles.
Why it matters: This lighthouse marks the northeastern extremity of Sulawesi, guiding vessels navigating the waters around the Minahasa Peninsula and helping them avoid hazards.
