About Tagapul-an Lighthouse
Also known as: Tagapul-an (Tagapula Island)
Located on the northwestern point of Tagapul-an Island, this 10-meter tall, cylindrical tower is made of white fiberglass and has a round barbell form. Its light displays a single white flash every five seconds (Fl W 5s). The structure marks the northern boundary of islands within the Samar Sea and overlooks a main shipping lane, directing vessels clear of the island's coastal bluffs.
Why it matters: This lighthouse warns mariners of the steep bluffs and hazards found along Tagapul-an Island's northwestern point. The round barbell-shaped fiberglass tower is a distinct construction detail.
