About Tacna Region Lighthouses Lighthouse
A cylindrical concrete tower, 19 meters tall, was built in 1972 near Arica. It featured blue and white bands and had a focal height of 25 meters. The lighthouse emitted two green flashes every period. Its geographic range was 8 nautical miles. The structure was demolished sometime before 2010.
Why it matters: This lighthouse marked the approach to the port of Concordia, located at the Peruvian-Chilean border.
