The structure consists of a 9.5-meter round cylindrical concrete tower, painted green, which stands atop a large concrete pier. Its light emits a single green flash every 8 seconds. Accessible only by boat, the site is open to visitors, but the tower itself is closed to the public. This lighthouse has been an active aid to navigation for many years.
Why it matters: This lighthouse warns vessels of a hazardous shoal and is essential for local navigation in the waters west-northwest of the Kame Iwa light.
