About Stolper Haken Oberfeuer Lighthouse
The Stolper Haken Oberfeuer was a square skeletal tower constructed of steel and painted white. It stood 24 meters tall and was built in 1980 near Schaprode, on the westernmost tip of Rügen island. The light emitted was white. This navigational aid helped guide vessels through the sound between Hiddensee and Rügen. It ceased operations in 2013 and was later demolished.
