About Smygehuk Lighthouse
The Smygehuk Lighthouse is a cylindrical tower built of cast iron in 1883. Standing 17 meters tall with a focal height of 19 meters, it emits one white flash followed by two white flashes every 20 seconds. This structure is located on the southernmost tip of Sweden, about 1.5 kilometers west of Smygehamn. The lighthouse was deactivated in 1975 but was reactivated in 2001 following a restoration effort. The keeper's house has since been renovated and now operates as a youth hostel.
