About Skjeljanger Lighthouse
The Skjeljanger Lighthouse is located on a promontory on the east side of the Hjeltefjord, northwest of the village of Skjeljanger. The current concrete post, standing 6.5 meters tall, was built in 1961 and carries a red lantern roof. It emits three white or red flashes on a 10-second cycle, with a focal height of 17 meters. The original station was established in 1853, and the initial structure was later demolished in 1983. The lighthouse's geographic range is 12.4 nautical miles.
