About Shizuura Kō Lighthouse
Built in 1971, the Shizuura Kō lighthouse is an 8.5-meter white, hourglass-shaped concrete tower. It is situated at the end of a breakwater extending 2.5 kilometers northeast of Awashima, in Shizuoka Prefecture. From a focal height of 10 meters, the light produces a white flash every three seconds. Its visibility extends for 10.4 nautical miles.
