Sasak North Lighthouse
Location & Light Range
About Sasak North Lighthouse
Sasak North is a cylindrical, white, barbell-shaped tower with a height of 12 meters, erected on a platform resting on piles. Located offshore, it marks the western entry to the Pasaman River and Sasak. The light displays a green hue, flashing once every five seconds, offering a 11 nautical mile visibility range. The location is open for visits, but entry into the tower is restricted.
Why it matters: The light's green flash, characteristic Fl G 5s, warns ships of a specific alignment for safe passage into the Pasaman River. The unusual barbell shape on its supporting piles offers a distinct visual reference for navigators.
