About San Remo Lighthouse
A cylindrical white tower, 7 meters tall, stands on the quay at San Remo, situated before the Coast Guard office. This structure, which includes a lantern and gallery, was established as a station in 1866, with indications of a possible second lighthouse built in 1894. Although the light is no longer active, the tower remains a historical monument in the city. The site is open to the public, allowing visitors to view the exterior, but the tower itself is closed.
Why it matters: This lighthouse is recognized as a historical monument, preserving a connection to San Remo's maritime heritage and the history of its port.
