About Sambro Harbour Lighthouse
Also known as: Sambro Harbour (Bull Point)
A square pyramidal vinyl-clad tower, painted white with a red band at the top, stands 10 meters tall. The focal height of its light is 10.5 meters, casting a green beam with a single flash characteristic. This structure, built in 2016, replaced a similar wooden tower and continues the maritime safety tradition established in 1899. The original lantern was removed from the station in 1971. Located at the end of Bull Point Road, the site is accessible to the public, though the tower itself remains closed.
Why it matters: This lighthouse guides vessels into Sambro Harbour, a primary hub for the region's maritime industry, helping them avoid coastal hazards.
