Salerno Molo di Levante Lighthouse
Location & Light Range
About Salerno Molo di Levante Lighthouse
This 10-meter green post light, designed in a bottle style, stands at the end of Salerno's eastern breakwater. It is mounted atop an octagonal, one-story concrete equipment room. The structure emits a green flash every 5 seconds, with its light visible for 11.3 nautical miles. The light was temporarily replaced by buoys in August 2021 due to breakwater extensions, which also led to its relocation. Constructed from concrete, the tower stands 10 meters tall with its focal plane at 13 meters above sea level.
Why it matters: The light's green flash specifically marks the end of the eastern breakwater, guiding vessels into Salerno harbor and preventing collisions with the structure.
