This concrete post lighthouse stood 8.5 meters tall with a focal height of 15 meters. Topped with a yellow post structure, it rose from a square, single-story equipment room. The lighthouse marked the end of the east inner breakwater in Ofunato's Ryōri area, serving the nearest port of Ohfunato, 3.2 kilometers away. Its light produced a fixed buoys characteristic. The structure was destroyed by the 2011 tsunami.
