This concrete lighthouse, built in 1959, stands 18 meters tall on a round base protected by riprap. Its structure is a cylindrical tower topped with a lantern, painted black with a single red horizontal band. The light emits a white flash every 10 seconds and has a geographic range of 12.7 nautical miles. It is situated on a shoal approximately 8 kilometers west-southwest of Vada. The lighthouse was repainted and improved after being noted in poor condition in 2007.
Why it matters: This lighthouse warns vessels away from the Secche di Vada shoal, a significant hazard in these coastal waters.
