Ronehamn Lighthouse
Location & Light Range
About Ronehamn Lighthouse
This concrete cylindrical tower, standing 11 meters tall, was built in 1963. Its upper half is painted white, while the lower half is black. The light emits three flashes in white, green, and red every nine seconds, a characteristic that changes depending on the viewing direction. The Ronehamn light station was first established in 1955, with the current structure replacing an earlier light. The lighthouse is situated in the Baltic Sea, approximately 4 kilometers east of Ronehamn. The site is open to visitors arriving by sea, but the tower itself is closed to the public.
Why it matters: The lighthouse's specific sector light provides precise navigational guidance for vessels approaching the coast and highlights potential hazards. Its distinctive tower is a recognized landmark for mariners in the Gotland archipelago.
