About Raudholmane Lighthouse
Also known as: Raudholmane (Rødholmen)
Raudholmane Lighthouse was established in 1954 as a concrete post structure. The cylindrical tower stands 11.5 meters tall and is painted white, with a red lantern room. Its focal height is 14.5 meters above sea level. The light emits white, red, and green flashes in a 5-second cycle. The automated lighthouse replaced an earlier station that began operation in 1893, which included a keeper's house. The original keeper's house has since been demolished.
Why it matters: This lighthouse is important for guiding vessels in the waters southeast of Skuløya, near Brattvåg, helping them navigate shallow areas and rocky outcrops.
