Rapallo Lighthouse
Location & Light Range
About Rapallo Lighthouse
The Rapallo lighthouse is a white, cylindrical tower measuring 5.5 meters in height. It features a gallery and rises from a one-story pier house. First lit in 1918, it is situated at a sharp, right-angle bend on the main breakwater, Calata Andrea Doria, in Rapallo, Italy. The light emits a white signal and is located just 0.3 kilometers from the nearest port. Though the tower was removed around 2019, it was reinstalled by October 2023. The site is open to the public, but the tower itself remains closed.
Why it matters: The lighthouse is essential for guiding vessels around the critical right-angle bend in Rapallo's main breakwater, preventing potential collisions and ensuring safe harbor entry.
