About Raoulic Lighthouse
Also known as: Raoulic (feu antérieur)
This lighthouse, established in 1856, stands at the extremity of the Môle de Raoulic, marking the western side of Audierne harbor's entrance. The structure is a round, cylindrical masonry tower, 11 meters tall, painted white with a red top. Its focal height is also 11 meters, and it emits three white and green flashes every 12 seconds, with a geographic range of 10.7 nautical miles. Originally, it served as the front light for a range with Feu de Trescadec. After 1887, it paired with Feu de Kergadec for a different range configuration. The original lantern has been replaced with a modern light on a mast.
Why it matters: The Raoulic lighthouse is important for marking the entrance to Audierne harbor, guiding vessels approaching the port.
