The current Quatsino Lighthouse, a round cylindrical concrete tower standing 7.5 meters tall, was built in 1977 on Kains Island. This structure is attached to a single-story equipment building. The light is positioned at a focal height of 28 meters and emits a white flash every 5 seconds, visible for nearly 15 nautical miles. The station was first established in 1907, with replacements built in 1910 and the current tower constructed in 1977. The lighthouse is located at the entrance to Quatsino Sound, about 55 kilometers southeast of Cape Scott.
