Location & Light Range
About Punta Talara Range Front Lighthouse
Built in 1974, this square white skeletal tower stands 18 meters tall and operates as the front range light for Puerto Talara. Its green light flashes continuously, with the light source positioned 21 meters above sea level. This structure replaced an earlier green tubular tripod light, indicating an upgrade in navigational technology for the port. The tower is located beside the main harbor street in Pariñas, close to the nearest port of Talara. While the site is accessible to the public, the tower itself remains closed.
Why it matters: This lighthouse serves as the front marker for a navigational range, providing precise alignment for vessels entering the busy commercial port of Talara and supporting maritime trade.
