About Punta Talara Lighthouse
A cylindrical tower, 25 meters tall, was constructed in 2022 with black and white horizontal bands. This new structure replaced an earlier lighthouse removed in 2018. The light was temporarily relocated in 2020 before the current tower became operational in 2022. The tower features a two-stage design, with the lower three-quarters being octagonal and the upper stage a round section 6 meters in height. Its focal plane reaches 85 meters above sea level, emitting a white flash every 15 seconds. The lighthouse is situated on a cape sheltering the harbor of Talara, Peru.
