This 7-meter tall cylindrical tower, constructed from masonry, was established and illuminated in 1913. The structure is painted a bright red, with its lantern and gallery finished in white. The light source is positioned at a height of 11 meters. It produces a red light, flashing once every 4 seconds, with a range of 10.7 nautical miles. The lighthouse is located on a mole at the western side of the approach to La Spezia, close to Portovenere and the port of Le Grazie.
Why it matters: This lighthouse serves as a navigation aid for ships entering and leaving the important naval and commercial port of La Spezia.
