This white, cylindrical brick lighthouse, standing 11 meters tall, was built in 1920 and first lit the same year. Located on a north-pointing headland at the southern entrance to the Ría de Corme y Lage, it is situated at the end of Camiño Cemiterio, approximately 2.5 km north of Laxe. The tower features a gallery and has a focal height of 66 meters. Its light emits a white flash every 20 seconds, visible for 20.9 nautical miles. In 1995, the lighthouse was upgraded with a new lens. The site is open to the public, though the tower itself remains closed.
Why it matters: The Punta Lage lighthouse is essential for guiding vessels into the Ría de Corme y Lage, marking the southern entry to this busy estuary used by fishing boats and coastal traffic.
