It is positioned to mark the transition point where the narrow channel from the sea opens into the inner harbor. This structure is supported by an arch that spans the walkway along the shore. The light emits a red flash every five seconds. Its focal height is thirteen meters, providing a geographic range of 11.3 nautical miles. The site is open to the public, but the tower itself is closed.
