This lighthouse is situated on the southwestern end of a sand spit located on the south side of the Río Ebro delta. The structure is a 12-meter-tall cylindrical concrete tower, painted green, standing on a square concrete pad. It emits a white or green light with a characteristic of one flash every 4 seconds. The tower, which has a focal height of 13 meters, is closed to the public, but the site is accessible to visitors. The nearest port, Alcanar, is 1.6 kilometers away.
Why it matters: The lighthouse marks the southwestern extremity of the sand spit at the Río Ebro delta, guiding vessels through its complex and shallow waters.
