A cylindrical steel tower, 14 meters high, stands at Punta Chapoya, painted with black and white horizontal bands. It is flared at both the top and bottom and stands on a headland 7 km west of Playas, Ecuador. The light emits a white flash every 10 seconds. This structure began operations around 2011 and has a focal height of 24 meters. The site is open to the public, though the tower itself is closed.
