This concrete lighthouse, erected in 1981, reaches 6.5 meters in height. The structure, first illuminated in 1930, is a cylindrical concrete tower topped with a lantern, painted white with one red horizontal stripe. It emits a white flash every 10 seconds (Fl W 10s) from a focal plane of 85 meters, with a geographic range of 23.2 nautical miles. The lighthouse is situated on land associated with the Antamina mining company, approximately 0.7 kilometers from the port of Huarmey.
Why it matters: This lighthouse marks the harbour entrance for Huarmey and offers a navigation aid for mariners along the coast south of Chimbote.
