About Puerto Rico West Breakwater Lighthouse
A cylindrical steel tower, 10 meters high, stands at the end of the west breakwater at a pleasure craft marina. This post light features a spiral stairway within a square skeletal tower attached to a two-story building. The light emits a red flash every 4 seconds, visible for 10.7 nautical miles. The current structure replaced an earlier, smaller masonry tower. It is located in Puerto Rico, Mogán, approximately 25 km northwest of Maspalomas in the Canary Islands.
Why it matters: This light is essential for the safe navigation of pleasure craft entering and exiting the marina, clearly marking the end of the west breakwater.
