About Point Gammon Lighthouse
Point Gammon Light was a lighthouse situated on the south end of Great Island in West Yarmouth, Massachusetts. It stood on its namesake point, marking the eastern side of Lewis Bay and the entrance to Hyannis Harbor. The tower measured 21 meters in height, with its focal plane 6 meters above sea level. The light is no longer operational. In the late 19th century, after being deactivated, the structure was repurposed as an ornithological observation tower.
